Marah’s qualities: Smart, honest, lovable, awe-inspiring, amusing, loyal, majestic, purposeful, inquisitive
Marah is as good as the day is long, but is the biggest goofball in the world. He may have been a soccer player in a former life based on the joy he gets from kicking a ball around the arena. If you’re the type of person who needs to be perfect he’ll show you the joy of letting go and embracing the concept of flexibility. Dale Dubois professes that Marah saved his life at least twice showing unwavering loyalty and connection. He is a 14 year-old Arabian who loves people, fresh hay and changing people’s lives.
Razzy’s qualities: Loving, loyal, gentle, sweet, kind-hearted, intelligent, responsive, very willing to please.
Razzy will forever hold a special place in Dr. Theresa Dubois’ heart for being her first horse, and for teaching her so much about life – an advantage Razzy uses to solicit an occasional carrot or two. Her wisdom is easily shared and the insight she demonstrates while telling you how your day, month, or life is going is profoundly astute. If you need her she is there for you. Her ability to reflect back to you the truth of what’s going on in your world is nothing short of miraculous. Razzy, short for Razz A Lena is a 14 year old Quarter Horse and has made it her goal to do something kind for someone each day.
Savannah’s qualities: Kind, forgiving, trusting, heartwarming, devoted, intuitive, sensitive
Our Savannah holds the designation of rising the furthest here at Rise Canyon Ranch having been rescued from certain death, pregnant with a foal, off a truck headed for slaughter. In debited to her rescuers she has devoted her life to educating others about the impact one life can make in the world. She realizes that when someone is no longer in crisis they really get to know themselves for who they are, how their mind organizes, what they want out of life and how she can help them get there. Savannah is a soulful 12 year-old Quarter Horse who exemplifies the power of forgiveness, is not a fan of baths and wholeheartedly believes in second chances.
Sawyer’s qualities: Patient, clever, courageous, watchful, quirky, playful, charming
Sawyer is a 10 year old miniature Quarter Horse hailing from the wine country of Temecula, CA where he forged a bond with Scarlett his stall mate, then left the herd to join the team at Rise Canyon Ranch. Most days he prefers to be identified as the peanut butter to Scarlett’s jelly. Other days he’s willing to be flexible. His demeanor allows you to find your own way, but he’ll encourage you to work for his cooperation. He may be small in stature, but as big as Marah in his mind. Sawyer is a sweet gentleman and appreciates kind words, people and a good brushing. He’s a great partner and knows life would not be the same without Scarlett.
Scarlett’s qualities: Kindhearted, friendly, calm, affectionate, devoted, huggable.
Known for her propensity for all things cozy, Scarlett will climb into your lap and sit with you if you let her – fuzzy blanket preferred. Her smaller stature allows others to adjust to her level to gain a new perspective on how to forge a relationship. She is just the perfect size for people who prefer a less intimidating experience. But rest assure, Scarlett upholds a healthy self-image and is 100% horse. She and Sawyer, her pen mate, are training to one day pull a cart together, something they feel confident about because they make a great team. Scarlett is a 10 year old miniature Quarter Horse who loves a good hoof trimming (aka pedicure) and embraces her red hair for the beauty it brings to the world.
